How to Use the Plaque Designer

Create and preview your personalized plaque before placing your order. Your design updates automatically as you make selections.

Before You Begin

Select your plaque size, metal plate color and corner shape, and plaque finish. Some selections include an additional charge. The displayed price updates automatically.

The designer works on phones, tablets, and computers. On a mobile device, select Preview Your Plaque whenever you want to see a larger view of your design.

Please check your design carefully. Your plaque will be produced using the design you approve. Review all names, dates, wording, capitalization, punctuation, and spelling before adding it to your cart.

Designing Your Plaque

  1. Choose How to Create Your Plaque

    Choose one of the following methods:

    • Use our design tool: Choose a style, upload an optional logo, enter your wording, and decorate your plaque.
    • Upload my complete design: Upload finished portrait artwork that fills the metal plate. Use the plus and minus controls to adjust its size.

    When uploading a completed design, the Style, Logo, Wording, and Decorate steps are skipped. You will proceed directly to Review.

  2. Choose a Style

    Choose the type of plaque you are creating, such as General Recognition, Sports, Corporate, Appreciation, or Memorial.

    If you choose Sports, select the appropriate sport. Your choice changes the suggested wording and starting typography. You can customize the design in the following steps.

  3. Add an Optional Logo

    Choose whether you want to include a logo, organization image, team graphic, or photograph.

    After uploading an image, you can:

    • Choose its location on the plaque.
    • Make it larger or smaller.
    • Move it up or down.
    • Remove a solid background when needed.
    • Undo background removal and restore the original image.

    A clear, high-resolution image will produce the best result. Logos with transparent backgrounds work especially well.

  4. Create Your Wording

    Enter the recipient's name, main title, and body text. Each section has its own font, size, and vertical-position controls.

    If you need help writing the message:

    • Select Show Basic Suggestions for ready-made examples.
    • Enter your starting wording and select Create AI Options for several rewritten alternatives.
    • Choose a wording style such as Polished, Warm, Formal, Concise, or Inspiring.
    • Select Use This Wording to place an option into your plaque design.

    AI-generated wording is only a starting point. Carefully review all names, facts, dates, spelling, and punctuation. Longer messages may automatically become smaller to remain inside the printable area.

  5. Decorate Your Plaque

    Every design begins with black text and no embellishment. You may add a decoration or choose another production-safe text color.

    Available decorations may include:

    • An inset border.
    • An elegant flourish.
    • Corner stars, when available.
    • A sport motif.

    Some decorations include additional style and placement choices.

    If a decoration overlaps your logo or wording, the designer will display a warning. Adjust the logo, text, decoration, or placement until the warning is cleared.

  6. Review and Approve Your Design

    Review the finished plaque preview and the design summary before adding the item to your cart.

    Confirm that:

    • The plaque size, metal plate, corner shape, and plaque finish are correct.
    • The logo or uploaded artwork is clear and positioned properly.
    • All wording is accurate and spelled correctly.
    • Nothing overlaps or extends outside the usable plate area.
    • The quantity is correct.

    Select Back if you need to make changes. When everything is correct, select Approve Design & Add to Cart.

    Please allow a few moments while the customer preview and production files are created and saved.

Your Saved Design

A link to your design will appear with the item in your shopping cart and on your email receipt. The design link is normally available for approximately six months, after which older files may be removed.

If you create another version and add it to the cart, each design will remain attached to its corresponding cart item.
