5 1/4" x 7 3/4" Diamond Impress Acrylic - Sublimatable

DO IT YOURSELF INSTRUCTIONS for IMPRESS ACRYLIC SUBLIMATION

Supplies needed:
- sublimatable substrate
- sublimation transfer
- Teflon or scratch paper
- thermal/heating pad
- heat tape


Heat press settings:
- temperature - 400 degrees F
- dwell time - 3:00 - 3:30 minutes
- pressure - medium


Note: The recommended settings above may need adjustments for best results.
Settings will vary depending on the heat press brand and model, ink and paper and atmospheric conditions.

2nd Note: Clamshell presses and pneumatic presses may not be ideal for this product.

3rd Note: Print the transfer right-reading not mirrored as the image will be viewed from the back of the product.

Layer the press from the bottom pad to the top heat plate as follows:
1. Teflon sheet or scratch paper
2. 2 or 3 layers of soft paper towel
3. substrate
4. transfer
5. heating pad or thermal pad
6. Teflon or scratch paper

Steps:
1. Tape two ends of the substrate to the transfer using the heat tape.
2. Position the substrate and transfer in the press with the transfer on top of the substrate.
3. Place the heating pad or thermal pad on top of the transfer.
4. Place a Teflon sheet or a piece of scratch paper over all items in the press.
5. Press the items using the listed settings.
6. Remove items from the press immediately. Use heat resistant gloves if necessary - the items will be very hot.
7. Tear the transfer in half opposite of the taped ends.

Tips:
- In most cases a swing-away press which delivers pressure from directly above is the preferred press for thick substrates like the Sublicrylics. Clam-shell presses are generally not recommended for these types of substrates.
- If the image of the final product appears light in any areas of the substrate increase the pressure or the dwell time slightly (15-30 seconds). - If the image on the final product appears blurred or substrate appears yellowed or cracked reduce the pressure slightly and/or the dwell time (15-30 seconds).
- Sublimating multiple Sublicrylics at once will require a longer dwell time in some cases. Start with an increase in dwell time of 30 seconds for 2 pieces. Identify the ideal dwell time for 2 before pressing larger quantities. Some experimenting with dwell time will be required with multiple pieces as various brands and models of presses will perform differently.
